To help raise awareness, Len Farber, Director of Student Development, spoke to the students about the importance of making responsible decisions and how to become a “Designated HERO” for their friends. Bill Elliott, Founder of the HERO Campaign, expressed his appreciation of what a great event the Stockton Community had put together. “This event is a perfect model for other colleges across the nation. You are having a great time in a friendly competition and learning about the importance of sober designated drivers. Keep up the good work.” Games featured during the day included an egg toss, 3-legged race, football pass, pie eating contest and tug of war. Harry Maurice, Assistant Director Student Development, coordinated the day with the help of Jamie Sofia, Greek Council President and Brooke Beighley, Greek Council Vice President. Winners were awarded with “Stockton HERO Day” medals and trophies and of course bragging rights. For more information on hosting a “HERO Day”, please contact info@herocampaign.org.
