At the Naval Academy, John Elliott distinguished himself as an outstanding Human Education Resource Officer (HERO) in the Character Development Program. In JohnÕs honor, the U.S. Naval Academy Foundation has established the Ensign John R. Elliott Fund for Character Excellence. We have set a goal to endow this fund and the annual Capstone Character Excellence Seminar Series it supports - both are priorities of the U.S. Naval Academy FoundationÕs ongoing comprehensive campaign. These privately funded seminars provide First Class (Senior) Midshipmen with practical character and ethics education to prepare them for leadership positions in their Navy or Marine Corps careers.
