Monmouth University announces its HERO of the Year
Renee Orefice, a Monmouth University junior, was named the school’s HERO of the Year on March 6.
The announcement was made by Brian Martin, president of the Monmouth University HERO Campaign Club.
A psychology and sociology double major, Renee was nominated by fellow Monmouth students. Here’s an excerpt from an anonymous nomination:
I am emailing you to tell you that a junior named Renee Orefice should receive this award for saving my life the first week of school. She found me passed out on the street and helped me and got me the medical treatment I needed at the time because my BAC (blood alcohol content) was at a .30. Thank you for considering this person for the award.
Renee hails from Lyndhurst, N.J., and is a member of the Alpha Kappa Psi, the campus professional business fraternity. She is also a member of the sociology club and the psychology club.
