HERO Campaign Hosts Matt Uhl Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser

LITTLE EGG HARBOR, N.J. (April 2, 2018) – The John R. Elliott HERO Campaign for Designated Drivers is hosting a spaghetti dinner fundraiser at the American Legion Hall 493 in Little Egg Harbor Township in memory of Matt Uhl, a Rowan University student who was tragically killed in 2013 after being hit by a drunk driver. Funds raised from the event benefit the John R. Elliott HERO Campaign for Designated Drivers to prevent drunk driving tragedies.

HERO Campaign organizers and supporters will be joined by the Uhl family to honor Matt, who was just 22-years-old when he lost his life on April 12, 2013. Matt was struck by a drunk driver in front of his fraternity house on the Rowan campus while crossing the street with his friends. A senior studying entrepreneurship at the college’s school of business, Uhl was set to graduate that spring.

“Drunk driving tragedies affect entire families and communities,” Bill Elliott, founder of the HERO Campaign, said. “Through fundraising events like this, we educate and encourage individuals to step-up and take the HERO Pledge to be a designated driver and prevent future loss of life.”
